M-Learning Solution: Modern Day Reality

M-Learning or Mobile Learning can be defined as any type of learning that happens via mobile devices. Gone are those days when you have to sit for hours to search for a particular information on a book. With the rapid development in the technology sector, education has also taken a step forward and adapted the most modern technological solutions for learning or teaching.  

Technological advancement has made all the information available at our fingertips. Nowadays, education institutions are using these devices for teaching as it is much more convenient for students as well as teachers or trainers. It is quite necessary that students are introduced to these gadgets and its importance should be taught to them as this is their future. 

Technological development has evolved our education system, but these technologies come with their own pros and cons. On one hand, we benefit a lot from these smart phones (such as reading books, paying bills, access to information,etc.), while on the other hand we have so many distractions present (such as social media sites). Therefore, we have listed some advantages and disadvantages which will help you to understand M-Learning clearly and accurately.

Advantages

• Mobile learning has been made accessible anytime anywhere. No matter where the person is, they have the access to all the information in the world at their fingertips and at their own suitable time.
• It promotes diverse learning styles such as videos, texts, sideshows, quizzes, podcast, etc. These various learning styles encourages students to learn in an interesting and creative manner.
• Mobile learning allows a person to learn at their own pace. They do not have to rush into everything as they can take their own time to understand and learn a concept.

Disadvantages

• Mobile devices, at times, can become a distraction for students. It is not necessary that every time a student is doing something productive on the device, they might get distracted with various other things present on the internet.
• It is not necessary that all areas have good connectivity. This will be problematic in case of downloading or uploading any material on the internet or while accessing any information or data.
• Using too much mobile phones can lead to eye problem as it puts too much strain on our eyes.

There is an entirely different world present on the internet and it is possible for a person to get lost in that wide world. Therefore, it is necessary to guide them so they do not misuse these devices.
